Andreessen Horowitz published the seventh edition of its consumer AI apps ranking on October 5. For the first time, it added an observed US consumer spending ranking based on YipitData panels alongside web traffic from Similarweb and mobile activity from Sensor Tower. The firm says 4.5% of eligible consumers in the US e-receipt panel had an active personal subscription to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude in August 2026. Its spending results describe the sampled panel, not a census of all US users or the providers’ total revenue. The firm also changed eligibility to exclude products primarily designed for adult use, which affects comparisons with earlier editions.
