AP-NORC AI pace poll timeline

AP-NORC published a national survey on October 8 in which 64% of US adults said AI technology is developing too quickly. The center reports that about eight in 10 adults want the federal government to treat human control of AI and protection of US workers as important priorities. The poll also asked about election information: 21% said they had used or planned to use AI to learn about a candidate or ballot issue. Interviews with 2,140 adults took place September 24-28. These results describe respondents’ views and intentions, not measured effects of AI on employment or elections.
