On October 8, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office said ten leading foundation model developers had made, or committed to make, changes following its supervision of personal-data practices. The regulator named Amazon, Anthropic, Apple, Cohere, DeepSeek, Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI and Stability AI. It cited clearer privacy information, stronger ways for people to exercise their data rights and more evidence about safeguards. The ICO also opened a consultation on the data-protection risks of AI agents, closing November 20. Some developer changes remain commitments under monitoring, and the consultation does not itself create a new law or establish a violation by a named company.
