Flagship Pioneering announced the launch of iris labs on October 6 with an initial $20 million funding commitment. Its first product, iris chat, is available through iMessage and RCS and is described as an AI conversation partner for relationships, goals and personal wellbeing. The company says it uses a parallel safety agent to assess conversations, alongside other AI systems that evaluate responses.
