Microsoft Copilot Hybrid Intelligence Windows preview

Microsoft demonstrated a planned Copilot upgrade that can use local files on a Windows PC and take actions across the operating system, The Verge reported from the company’s October 7 event. Microsoft calls the approach Hybrid Intelligence because it combines local and cloud models. In an onstage video demonstration, an Autopilot agent found tax documents, renamed and compressed them, then drafted an email with the archive attached. The Verge says the related Copilot features are due over the next couple of months, while a redesigned Windows search experience is planned for the fall. A staged demonstration and announced schedule do not establish general availability, dependable task completion or the safeguards around sensitive files.
