Singapore says government agencies are testing agentic AI with safeguards while officials review rules for more autonomous systems.

Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How told parliament on October 7 that government agencies are running trials to understand how to deploy AI agents responsibly. According to CNA, the government is reviewing how existing accountability, oversight and cybersecurity measures should apply as agents become more autonomous. Tan said current guidelines and regulations still apply and encouraged private organizations to take appropriate care. The trials are evidence of policy work in progress, not a new law or a completed safety certification.
