Utah Nolla Health AI acne prescription pilot timeline
Utah’s Office of Artificial Intelligence Policy lists an approved Nolla Health pilot for first-time and refill prescriptions of selected topical acne treatments. The agreement was signed September 22, but the state says the demonstration period has not started. The initial stage requires two Utah-licensed physicians to review every prescription before it is sent. Later stages with less review need separate written approval. The pilot is limited to Utah adults with mild to moderate acne and excludes oral drugs, isotretinoin and severe cases. STAT reported on the state’s broader health AI sandbox expansion on October 5.
