What is this?
Generative Agents is a research implementation in which simulated characters remember experiences, form plans and interact with one another in a small virtual town.
Why it belongs here
It turns a familiar social-simulation thought experiment into something people can inspect. The project is less about a production assistant and more about the ingredients needed for agents whose behaviour unfolds over time.
Who should look at it?
Researchers and designers working on memory, NPCs, simulations or multi-agent interaction should find the project valuable. It is also a useful reminder that believable behaviour depends on context and continuity, not only on a stronger one-shot answer.
What to inspect
Focus on memory retrieval, planning and the boundary between generated behaviour and world state. Those mechanisms are more informative than the novelty of the demo itself.
