YouTube announced October 14 that YouTube Music is rolling out labels on the player page for music created primarily using generative AI. Tapping the label opens additional information. The company says the music labels will also expand to the main YouTube app.
Music partners can declare content fully, partly or not generated with generative AI. YouTube’s English help page describes metadata delivery routes and says additional signals can supplement declarations or classify content without them. Its examples distinguish generative composition and vocals from standard pitch correction and automated mastering. The announcement establishes a transparency rollout, without publishing detection-accuracy figures or promising that every track has been classified.
