Anthropic expands Claude Startups with Team seats and API credits
Approved startups can receive a year of Claude Team, a one-time API credit and separate partner offers.
A wider offer for young companies
Anthropic expanded its Claude Startups program on October 6, adding a free year of Claude Team for up to five premium seats and a one-time $1,000 Claude API credit for approved applicants. CNBC and TechCrunch reported the change, and Anthropic’s program page lists both benefits. The company also offers virtual office hours with its applied AI team and access to founder events. CNBC says startups founded within the past five years or funded within the past two years can apply. The program began in May; this announcement broadens its offer rather than introducing Claude Startups for the first time.
Anthropic advertises up to $45,000 in combined discounts and credits through its Claude Startup Stack. That figure represents potential offers from independent partner companies, not cash funding or an extra $45,000 of Claude API usage. Applicants must be approved and the benefits are subject to program terms. The expansion is a distribution push aimed at companies choosing a model platform early in their development. It does not establish how many new startups will join, how much of the partner value any one company will redeem, or whether the incentives will make them long-term Claude customers.
