Cohere introduces North 2 with agent memory and cost controls
The enterprise platform update adds an agent orchestration system, shared skills and memory, plus controls over deployment and token spending.
A broader enterprise agent platform
Cohere announced North 2 on October 5, describing it as an upgrade to its enterprise AI platform. The company says a redesigned orchestration system can manage multi-step agent workflows. New or expanded features include reusable skills, shared libraries, memory across sessions, application creation and a visual automation builder. Cohere also lists connectors for workplace tools including Slack, SharePoint, Outlook, Jira, Notion and GitHub. It says users can bring models from other providers as well as use Cohere’s own models.
Control and deployment claims
The announcement emphasizes private cloud, on-premises and air-gapped deployment options. Cohere says administrators can set roles, usage quotas and token-spending limits, while policies can restrict agent actions and require human oversight for critical steps. Those capabilities matter to organizations deciding whether agents should work with internal data and systems. The reviewed source is Cohere’s own launch announcement, however, so its claims about reliability, security and cost efficiency are not independent measurements. Cohere invites organizations to contact sales for a demonstration; the announcement does not provide a public self-service launch date or a price for North 2.
