MIT opens free AI-assisted entrepreneurship platform for students

Dear Dreamer adapts MIT's entrepreneurship curriculum for middle- and high-school students with videos, exercises and personalized AI feedback.

Why now MIT News introduced the public Dear Dreamer platform in an October 2 interview with its creator.

A curriculum with an AI feedback layer

MIT’s Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship has opened Dear Dreamer, a free learning platform for middle- and high-school students, MIT News reported on October 2. The site adapts the center’s disciplined entrepreneurship curriculum into a self-paced series of short videos and interactive exercises. Students can develop a venture idea and receive personalized feedback as they work through the steps. The product website is publicly accessible, and the center says a gift from the Frank and Eileen Foundation supported its development.

Center director Bill Aulet told MIT News that the team tested examples and presentation with younger students to make the material age-appropriate. He hopes the platform will empower 50,000 young entrepreneurs by 2030. That figure is a goal, not a count of current users or graduates. MIT’s article describes the design and launch but does not provide an independent study showing that the AI feedback improves learning or startup outcomes. The immediate change is access to a structured, no-cost entrepreneurship tool for younger learners.
