Oxford Economics launches AI assistant for macroeconomic scenarios
AskOE AI Model Assistant turns natural-language assumptions into scenarios run through the firm's Global Economic Model.
Natural-language scenario modelling
Oxford Economics announced AskOE AI Model Assistant on October 8, saying it lets clients describe economic shocks and other assumptions in natural language. According to the company, the assistant translates those inputs for its Global Economic Model, draws on its economic research to help shape scenarios, and runs the model to estimate possible effects. It then compares each result with Oxford Economics’ latest baseline. The company says the assistant is available now and directs interested organizations to request a demonstration.
What the announcement establishes
The launch extends the firm’s existing AskOE AI offerings from research and business forecasting into macroeconomic scenario modelling. Oxford Economics calls Model Assistant the world’s first AI assistant for this purpose, but that distinction is its own claim. The announcement does not provide independent evaluations of scenario accuracy or evidence that the conversational workflow improves decisions. The practical change is a new interface to an established economic model; users still need to examine the assumptions and interpret the model’s output before relying on a scenario.
