Pinterest introduced Beauty Guides, an AI-powered feature for turning hair and nail Pins into practical notes for a salon visit, TechCrunch reported on October 6. A Get the Guide button is intended to translate a saved look into terms a stylist or nail artist would use. The guide also presents an estimated time for the work, a price range and maintenance information such as when a style may need a trim or touch-up. Pinterest says the initial coverage includes hairstyles, hair color, nail shapes and finishes.
The feature applies Pinterest’s visual and generative AI to a familiar workflow: showing an inspiration photo to a professional and discussing how to achieve it. Its value depends on whether the descriptions and estimates match what a local salon can actually do. TechCrunch did not report an independent accuracy test, a geographic rollout list or a booking function. A guide’s cost and time figures should therefore be treated as planning aids, not a service quote or a confirmed appointment.
