Upscale AI Token Fabric launch launch Verified

Upscale AI unveils Token Fabric to link rival AI chips in data centers

The Nvidia-backed startup announced a hardware and software networking platform for mixed-supplier AI data centers, with delivery planned in stages.

Why now Reuters reported the Token Fabric announcement on October 8 at 12:01 UTC.

A network for mixed chip fleets

Upscale AI unveiled Token Fabric on October 8, a platform meant to connect AI processors from different suppliers within one data center. Reuters reports that it combines Upscale networking chips, equipment using Nvidia’s Spectrum-X technology and software that identifies bottlenecks and flags equipment that may need replacement. The company is pitching a single networking system to operators that want to use more than one chip supplier. Its stated aim is to keep expensive processors working instead of waiting for data; Reuters did not report an independent performance test establishing that outcome.

Rollout is still ahead

The launch is an announcement of the platform and its schedule, not a claim that the full system is already available. Upscale plans to release the first portion, which connects groups of AI chips across a data center, in the fourth quarter of 2026. Reuters says the company expects to introduce the rest in stages through 2027. CEO Barun Kar’s revenue expectations for next year are forecasts, not booked sales. Upscale is backed by Nvidia, but Token Fabric is presented as a way to connect equipment from multiple suppliers rather than as a new Nvidia AI chip.
