Granola timeline

Granola combines AI meeting notes with a separate voice typing feature. Its Mac voice typing beta is included in every plan, including Basic, and pastes formatted dictation into the active text field in other apps.

The company documents microphone and macOS Accessibility permissions, plus optional screen context that is enabled by default. Dictation audio is sent to transcription and AI providers; local history storage does not mean speech processing happens entirely on the device. Windows, iOS and Android voice typing are listed as coming soon.
