MeetCap timeline

MeetCap is a meeting recorder for macOS 14.2 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. The developer describes local transcription and speaker recognition, live summaries, and minutes linked to transcript lines. Transcripts and minutes are Markdown files in a user-selected library. An accompanying skill lets agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Pi start requested recordings and search meeting records.

The app is free proprietary software; the accompanying skill and reference files use MIT-0. Minutes can use an existing agent, a user-supplied API key, or a downloaded local model. Provider charges and usage limits remain separate. The privacy notice says recordings remain on the recording computer, while transcript text and meeting context go to the selected remote AI service unless a local model is used. Recording needs microphone and system-audio permissions for both sides of a call.
