open_scion timeline
open_scion is an independent Gitaly fork inspired by ideas in Anthropic’s public source-control article. It is not affiliated with Anthropic or GitLab and does not reproduce Anthropic’s private Scion implementation. Its Graft extensions add a sparse agent workspace, server-side history operations, branch landing and configurable agent access.
Version 0.1.0 is the first public release. The documented build requires Linux or macOS, Go 1.26 and Gitaly’s build dependencies. A local quickstart demonstrates a server, cache and two agents with different branch permissions. The server does not call a model; optional external conflict resolvers can use deterministic strategies or a separately configured provider. The project is MIT-licensed, but interfaces can change before 1.0 and documented storage and operational limitations remain.
