Ambi, led by former Plaud executive Peter Mo, told TechCrunch it has raised $26 million across multiple funding rounds. The company is opening early access to apps for iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch that can capture context throughout the day when users enable ambient listening. Ambi pitches live suggestions and task work during conversations rather than only summaries afterward.

The company’s English site says recordings are deleted after transcription and retained information is encrypted. TechCrunch reports that ambient capture is off by default, but notes that people nearby may not know they are being recorded when a user turns it on. Those privacy and performance statements are company claims, not an independent audit. Ambi’s planned hardware device is still forthcoming, and its site invites visitors to join a waitlist.
