Why now TechCrunch interviewed the founders on October 12 ahead of the planned second-version unveiling at Disrupt this week. Early customers are using it, but a broader public release was still prospective in the report.

From a sketch to coordinated drawings

Blueprints AI says its forthcoming second-generation software can take a project description or sketch and draft construction documents across architecture, structure, mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing and interior design. In an October 12 TechCrunch interview, co-founders Al Drams and Coco Cao said changes to one part of a design update the broader document set and are checked against local codes. The startup plans to unveil the version at TechCrunch Disrupt this week. The founders said early customers already use it, while general availability is expected later this week; that wider release had not yet happened in the report.

A professional still signs off

The company’s English site pitches plans built toward code compliance and says licensed professionals retain final review and sealing. TechCrunch likewise reports that architects still inspect and stamp the drawings before submitting them for permits. That distinction matters because generated documents are not themselves a permit approval. The company claims the system compresses repetitive drafting work, but neither the report nor the company page independently demonstrates that every drawing is complete, code-compliant or ready for a particular jurisdiction. Its planned third version, including structural analysis and electrical panel design, remains future work.
