AISH timeline

AISH is a standalone Rust shell for Linux, aimed at operations and system troubleshooting. Its English README documents full PTY support for programs such as vim, ssh and top, and natural-language requests entered with a semicolon prefix. It connects to configured model endpoints rather than providing its own model.

The code is Apache 2.0 licensed. Cloud inference needs the chosen provider’s configuration and credentials, with any provider charges separate from the shell. The project also documents local-model support. Its optional sandbox pre-run is disabled by default and requires a privileged service when enabled. Local logs and conversation history are stored on disk.
