Source-backed 4 sources
An MCP server and CLI connecting coding agents to Chrome for browser automation, debugging and performance inspection.
What happened lately
Chrome DevTools MCP exposes Chrome inspection and automation tools to compatible coding agents through MCP, and also provides a CLI. It requires npm, a supported Node.js version and Chrome; the project officially supports Google Chrome and Chrome for Testing.
Version 1.11.0, released October 15, 2026, adds built-in screencast recording without ffmpeg and an optional restriction on file-URL navigation. Its README warns that connected clients can inspect and modify browser data. Usage statistics are enabled by default and have a separate opt-out from Chrome’s own telemetry.
