Hippo Memory timeline

Hippo is a coding-agent memory layer with a local SQLite store, readable markdown mirrors and an MCP server. Its package requires Node.js 22.16 or later. The documented setup installs host integrations and can import project history and existing agent memories; installation alone does not activate every integration.

Version 3.2.0, released November 2, captures certain later user corrections as pinned rules and adds a Claude Code session-start hook to present those rules again. Its sentence-based heuristics can misclassify or miss instructions. Default BM25 recall needs no model call, while optional features and sleep-time extraction with an Anthropic key can send memory text outside the machine.
