Microsoft Project Perception timeline
Microsoft Project Perception uses security agents and signals from Microsoft’s cyber stack. Microsoft says the initiative was introduced in July 2026 to help defenders use red, blue and green agents against external threats. Its October 19 announcement extends the approach to agents deployed inside organizations.
The extension introduces Guardian Agents and Playbooks, along with Dynamic Permissions, Dynamic Agent Risk and Dynamic Conditional Access. Microsoft describes controls that can reduce an agent’s authority, require verified human approval or isolate its runtime as risk changes. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independently demonstrated guarantees. The announcement does not supply a single universal availability date or price for the complete stack.
