Modern Web Guidance timeline
Modern Web Guidance supplies instructions and a guide-search CLI to existing coding agents. The preview project documents installations for Codex, Claude Code and other hosts. It is not a model provider or a standalone autonomous coding runtime.
The README describes local semantic guide search without a model API key and discloses anonymous telemetry, including agent-generated CLI search queries and retrieved guide identifiers. It documents DISABLE_TELEMETRY=1 as an opt-out. Model-provider access and host-agent permissions remain separate from the guidance pack.
The v0.0.197 tagged package metadata requires Node 22 or newer and declares Apache 2.0 licensing. At review, npm’s latest metadata still returned 0.0.196, so the new GitHub tag should not be confused with confirmed availability of the same version through every installation route.
