Morphic timeline

Morphic is a standalone AI search application, not a model provider or a plugin for a coding harness. Its documented workflow searches the web and produces cited answers with streamed interface components. It supports configurable hosted model providers, Ollama and OpenAI-compatible endpoints, alongside search services including Tavily and SearXNG.

The recommended Docker Compose installation starts Morphic, PostgreSQL, Redis and SearXNG. Local development uses Bun. Hosted model services require the applicable credentials and may charge for usage; the Apache-2.0 software license does not include those services. Version 1.8.0 documents Better Auth accounts in the instance’s own PostgreSQL database and an optional self-hosted crawl4ai fetch backend. Self-hosting does not remove upstream search requests, model requests or browser requests for result images.
