Respan Gateway timeline
Respan Gateway is a standalone Rust gateway and library offered under MIT or Apache-2.0. Its authors describe translating supported OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini protocols while providing routing, retries and MCP integration. Users supply upstream credentials, or configure a compatible local provider.
Custom plugin logic is compiled into the application as native Rust crates. It is not a dynamically loaded or isolated extension marketplace. The October 20 launch discussion calls the software pre-alpha, even though GitHub provides v0.2.0 binaries for Linux, macOS and Windows. Optional Respan tracing can send request and response content unless configured for metadata only.
