tmux timeline

tmux creates and controls multiple terminals from a single screen. Its server can keep sessions running after a client detaches, allowing a later client to reattach. The original README lists OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Linux, macOS and Solaris, with libevent and ncurses dependencies for source builds.

Coding-agent workflows use that terminal persistence to keep remote processes reachable across an SSH disconnection, organize agents into named windows and send input or inspect rendered output from scripts. These are terminal primitives, not a model service, an agent subscription or proof that an agent has completed its task. Agents and provider access must be installed and configured separately. A session also ends if its server is terminated or its host reboots.
