Apple’s November 2 notice introduces Shared Location and Dating and Relationships declarations in App Store Connect starting November 16, 2026. Developers must provide them with app updates or questionnaire changes, and all apps must complete them by January 12, 2027.
The minimum 18+ Dating and Relationships rating includes virtual companions engaging users in sexual or romantic content. The notice does not impose that rating on every AI chatbot. Regional provisions include Brazil’s A16 rating for Shared Location and A18 for Dating and Relationships. Apple’s source supplies a calendar date for the announcement, not an exact publication hour.
