PAI agent observability gap timeline

Partnership on AI’s October 7 report overview describes an assessment of four agent frameworks against six monitoring goals. It identifies gaps in the records needed to reconstruct agent authority, human intervention and changes during a run.

In an October 29 opinion, Madhulika Srikumar and Claire Leibowicz call for framework developers, enterprises and regulators to address these gaps. The recommendations concern the infrastructure needed for oversight; telemetry alone does not establish that an agent’s decisions are correct or authorized.
