Mobile Automator timeline
Mobile Automator separates a coding agent’s planning and visual judgments from deterministic device actions. It wraps mobile-mcp and stores scenarios, screenshots, results and configuration in a project workspace. The Apache-2.0 project documents Android and iOS workflows, with platform-aware and platform-agnostic scenario modes.
Installation uses the mobile-automator npm package, which exposes the mauto CLI. Node.js 22.12 or newer, macOS or Linux, and a connected device or emulator are prerequisites; Windows is supported through WSL2. The init command installs host-specific agent skills and, for documented hosts, rules or MCP configuration. Users supply and authorize the agent that drives the device. Package installation does not include model-provider access or inference charges. Version 0.37.0 changes the workspace to a hidden dot-directory and requires migration of existing projects.
