OmO timeline

A standalone agent with plugin roots

OmO runs as the omo command on senpi, its maintainer’s fork of Pi. The English documentation describes coding, research, multi-model task graphs, memory and bundled skills. The current standalone application is distinct from the older OpenCode plugin edition; the two are not interchangeable installation targets.

The npm package is omo-ai, not the unrelated package named omo. Its 5.1.33 package metadata requires Node 24 or newer. The README also documents native binary installation for Windows and Unix-like systems. Provider access is configured separately; these sources do not establish one universal inference price.

Migration and licensing boundaries

The OpenCode migration guide describes importing provider API keys, custom providers, MCP server definitions and skills after a confirmation step. Provider-bound OAuth logins require signing in again. OpenCode tool permissions, plugin hooks and UI settings are not transferred, so importing settings is not a guarantee of equivalent execution permissions or plugin compatibility.

The reviewed source uses the Sustainable Use License, with third-party components retaining their own licenses. Its terms allow internal business purposes and non-commercial or personal use, and restrict distribution to free, non-commercial purposes. Source availability should not be confused with an unrestricted permissive license.
