Why now TechCrunch reported Bee's new devices on October 15 at 12:00 UTC. Bee's English product and Pro pages confirm the prices, different availability states and service-tier changes.

A wrist device now, a phone attachment next

Amazon-owned Bee has announced two new personal AI devices, its first new hardware since Amazon acquired the company in 2025, according to TechCrunch. The immediate option is Frontier, a $74.99 device that can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. The $99.99 Eclipse is listed as coming soon, rather than already shipping.

Bee’s central pitch remains turning conversations into transcripts, summaries, searchable insights and tasks. Frontier has a physical start-stop button and a green recording indicator. Bee lists USB-C charging, IP67 water resistance and up to seven days of battery life. Those are the manufacturer’s specifications, not AITrending test results.

Eclipse takes a different form: a credit-card-sized, 4.6 mm-thick magnetic attachment for a phone, with MagSafe compatibility. Bee says it can capture both sides of a phone call when activated, and uses a white recording indicator. Its planned form factor extends Bee beyond a wrist-worn device, but the availability distinction matters for anyone choosing what to buy today.

The price of keeping more history

The hardware price is only part of the decision. Bee’s free tier includes conversation processing and summaries with 14 days of history. Pro costs $11.99 per month or $99.99 per year and adds unlimited history, daily summaries, desktop access on Mac and Windows, and additional integrations. New devices include a 30-day Pro trial.

Bee says customers who bought its earlier Pioneer device before October 15 keep their prior features free. Desktop access is an optional Pro addition for those customers. The change therefore creates different choices for existing owners and new buyers, rather than imposing the same paid upgrade on everyone.

Private compute still includes the cloud

Bee says audio is transcribed in real time and discarded rather than stored, while transcripts and insights are encrypted with device-controlled keys. Its private-AI explanation describes processing inside an isolated AWS Nitro environment. This is a vendor-described cloud privacy architecture, not an entirely offline assistant.

AITrending reviewed Bee’s English product, subscription and privacy pages alongside the original report. It has not independently tested the devices, battery life or security design. The supported launch story is concrete: one new device is available, another is coming, and a longer-lived personal conversation archive now has an explicit subscription price.
