From restricted preview to wider access

Google says Gemini 4 Argon is rolling out globally on October 13, a material change from its September 30 announcement, which limited initial access to selected cyber defenders. Developers can use the paid Gemini API tier. Google AI Ultra subscribers can use Argon in AI Studio and Google Antigravity, while Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can try it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. The separate Antigravity announcement confirms availability in both its desktop app and CLI for Ultra subscribers, with eligible enterprise access as well. These routes have different subscription and payment requirements; Google’s announcement does not say Argon is free for everyone.

Price, performance claims and remaining limits

Google lists introductory API pricing of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Its new announcement says the introductory period ends November 30, after which the listed rates double. Google also describes coding, scientific and cyber-defense results from its own teams and partners. Those examples and benchmark rankings are company-reported, not proof of the same performance in every outside workflow. Selected Fairwind Program defenders can still apply for access without the standard cyber guardrails. The wider rollout makes Argon testable by many more users, while actual availability may depend on account, plan and rollout timing.
