Iris-3B Launches Community reports

Iris-3B adds a four-step Turbo checkpoint for pixel-space images

Speridlabs released distilled Turbo weights on October 12. It reports 1024-pixel output in about 0.7 seconds on an H100, with tradeoffs in text rendering and control.

Why now The Iris-3B base repository dates to October 5, but Hugging Face commit history records new four-step Turbo weights at 17:04 UTC on October 12.

A faster route through the same model family

Speridlabs added Iris-3B Turbo weights to its Hugging Face repository on October 12. The four-step distilled checkpoint is a new variant of Iris-3B, a pixel-space image generator whose base repository was created on October 5. The distinction matters because the Hub’s fresh modification date does not mean the original model launched today. Unlike a lightweight adapter, Speridlabs says Turbo is a full fine-tune of the three-billion-parameter model, with weights of about 6 GB.

Speed and tradeoffs

The English model card reports a 1024-by-1024 image in about 0.7 seconds on one H100 at batch four. That is the team’s measured setup, not a promise for a consumer GPU or every prompt. The card also says Turbo can be less reliable with dense or long rendered text, vary less across seeds, and show faint grain on flat backgrounds. Its four-step schedule is fixed, so the usual step count, guidance scale and negative-prompt controls do not apply. Developers can inspect the weights, code and demo under the repository’s stated Apache 2.0 license, then test quality and speed on their own hardware.
