Elpis is an Apache-2.0-licensed Linux coding-agent harness built on OpenAI’s Codex CLI. Its desktop and terminal applications share an engine and local state folder. Users connect their own model accounts or provider credentials; the application does not bundle model weights.
The desktop app introduces an editable workflow board whose planning agent can assemble teams, assign work and review results. Its documented folder-ownership checks are strongest in Git projects; outside Git, folder boundaries remain instructions rather than enforcement. Current release packages target Linux x86_64, with no macOS or Windows builds claimed.
