Locally Uncensored timeline

Locally Uncensored is a standalone desktop application for chat, image and video generation, coding and agent tools. It can use its own local engine or existing runtimes such as Ollama and LM Studio. Windows and Linux media workflows use ComfyUI; the English documentation describes a separate native media path on Apple Silicon Macs.

The app uses AGPL-3.0-only. Local use is free, while optional LU Cloud uses plans or credit packs and external model providers can require API keys and their own charges. Downloadable models retain their respective licenses. The October 27, 2026 v3.0.8 release documents background media jobs, web search fallbacks, settings confirmation cards and tool-permission fixes. Several hardware paths remain covered only by simulated tests in the maintainer’s release notes.
