Penmentor timeline
Penmentor is an MIT-licensed application for handwriting mathematics in xournal++ on Linux X11, tailored to a pen tablet and the i3 window manager. Its author describes colored feedback, a ladder of hints and interactive manim explanations. It uses an installed, authenticated command-line agent rather than supplying a model or a general provider API connection.
The guide says screenshots of every monitor, together with the current xournal++ page when its plugin is installed, go to the selected model through Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity. The published demo uses scripted handwriting and a fixed model response. It illustrates the interface rather than establishing live tutoring accuracy.
